The Bihar Education Department found itself amidst controversy as a purported order granting leave to teachers on Eid and Ram Navami, allegedly issued with the consent of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, was declared fake. Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak, despite being exempted for central deputation, remains an integral part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Bihar government. The Education Department refuted claims of any such order, clarifying that it was fake and unauthorized, raising questions about the authenticity of directives purportedly coming from the CM's office.

The situation escalated when a letter from the Education Department, signed by Director of Secondary Education Kanhaiya Prasad Srivastava, denied issuing any press note declaring holidays on April 10th and 11th for Eid and April 17th for Ram Navami. This prompted the State Education Research and Training Council to postpone training programs scheduled for those dates, clarifying that while Eid and Ram Navami are indeed gazetted holidays, there were no alterations to the training schedule, and the program would resume as planned the following day.
